Whats is EMLA?
EMLA is a commonly used local anaesthetic cream that is applied to the penis to help numb the nerve endings which are part of the process of ejaculation. It is unlicensed as a treatment for PE, but has been prescribed for many men with success.
How does it work?
EMLA cream is a local anaesthetic that reduces sensitivity at the tip of the penis when it is applied.
EMLA cream can cause redness, slight swelling, tingling or turn the skin pale where it is used. Rarely, it can cause mild burning or itching. For a full list of side effects please read the manufacturer’s product information leaflet that accompanies your medicine.
