What is Spedra?
Spedra (also known by the generic name avanafil) is part of a group of medicines called PDE5 inhibitors, which are used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED). It works by relaxing the muscles in the spongy tissue of the penis. This allows blood to flow freely upon sexual stimulation, causing an erection. Spedra can take effect within 15 minutes in some men and can be effective for up to six hours.
What is the difference between Viagra and Spedra?
Viagra contains the active ingredient sildenafil whereas Spedra contains avanafil. They are two completely different drugs, however, they have a similar effect on the body.
What is erectile dysfunction?
Erectile dysfunction (ED), also known as impotence, is the inability to get and maintain an erection. Erectile dysfunction is a very common condition, particularly in older men. It is estimated that half of all men between the ages of 40 and 70 will have it to some degree. There are approved treatments available to manage erection problems in men.
How does Spedra work?
Spedra inhibits an enzyme called PDE5. This acts on cGMP, which is a substance that regulates blood flow to the penis. In simpler terms, it relaxes the muscles in the veins that supply blood to the penis, increasing blood flow into the erectile tissue and making an erection possible during sexual excitation.
How do you take Spedra?
For the best results, take one tablet 30 minutes before engaging in sexual activity. The treatment can be taken with or without food, but it may be faster acting on an empty stomach. The positive effects can last for between four and six hours.
What dose should you take?
Spedra comes in tablet form and it should not be taken more than once a day.
Are there side effects?

- ● Headache
- ● Facial flushing
- ● Back pain
- ● Nausea
- ● Indigestion
